On Friday October 15, Illskillz Productions hosted a competition for high school dance crews at the Don Bosco High School Auditorium near Islington and the 401. Fifteen high-school hip hop groups battled to claim the title of  ”Toronto’s Best High School Dance Crew.”

With the fall underway, and with “So You Think You Can Dance Canada” down to its last 12 competitors, we are back into competition season in Toronto.  Even the city of Hamilton now hosts a dance competition, with its first ever Salsa competition awarding two winning dancers tickets to a trip to Cuba this weekend.

CANADA PRO 2010, Toronto’s biggest community-organized Hip Hop festival and competition, will take place on September 25, 2010, at the MANIFESTO WAREHOUSE,  376 Dufferin St. (just South of Queen St. West).

There will be $3000 of prizes awarded. Prior to the event there will be two master workshops held by the judges, plus a barbeque, live graffiti [...]

Part of  Harbourfront Centre’s NextSteps Series, Dance Ontario’s three-day dance event takes place this weekend January 22-24.  Twenty seven professional companies and hundreds of dancers will be performing. Admission is by donation (minimum $10 per person).
