Cirque du Soleil Raises Tent for OVO in Toronto
Dancing bugs set up their blue and yellow Big Top or “Grand Chapiteau” at the Port Lands on Cherry Street today in preparation for their show, OVO, the Cirque du Soleil’s 25th production in 25 years.
The Grand Chapiteau stands 19 meters high, 51 meters in diameter and is supported by four masts, each 25 meters tall. It seats more than 2,500 people in a climate-controlled environment, and it requires a team of approximately 80 people to raise.
In OVO (meaning “egg” in Portuguese), Brazilian director/choreographer Deborah Colker offers a vision of a colourful ecosystem teeming with life, where, accompanied by the rhythm of Brazilian sound, insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement.
The drama, stories, costumes, makeup, sheer talent in this show are sure to delight spectators of all ages. Children will adore the various crickets, dragonflies, fleas, ants and spiders in the show, while adults will continue to enjoy the signature Cirque du Soleil originality and acrobatics.

- Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m.
- Fridays and Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
- Sundays at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

- $45.50-$91* for children aged 2 to 12 inclusive
- $65-$130* for adults
Special prices for students and seniors
There is also a VIP Tapis Rouge package which includes one of the best seats in the house, as well as access to the VIP suite one hour before the show and during intermission. The adult package is available for $250 and the child package for $175 (aged 2 to 12 years old inclusive). Prices include taxes.

OVO HELD OVER UNTIL NOVEMBER 8
Due to overwhelming demand, Cirque du Soleil announced additional performances in Toronto.
All Toronto performances are currently on sale. There will be no further extensions; OVO must close in Toronto on Sunday, November 8.
Toronto will mark the last stop of the Canadian leg before the troupe continues on to the United States in San Francisco.
