After todays elimination of Jenna Lynn Higgins, Contemporary dancer Melanie Mah from Richmond Hill is the last remaining female dancer from the GTA on CTV’s second season of the hit show “So You Think You Can Dance Canada.”

In the first week of top-20 performances, hip hop dancer Tatiana Parker was eliminated,  and last week ballroom dancer Melanie Buttarazzi was sent home, leaving her partner Austin Di Lulio from Mississauga to dance with Corynne Barron from Edmonton this week.

Austin has gained a reputation of being a “partner killer” since he has lost his partner both the first week and the second week of the show. However the third time seems to be a charm for Austin, as enough people voted for his performance with Corynne today to keep them safe for another week.

Below is the excellent contemporary routine they performed which proves that Austin is not just a spinning, jumping, tumbling bag of tricks as many had claimed, but an emotive and technical dancer as well.

Besides Austin, two other men from the Toronto area remain in the competition: Cody Bonnell, a Hip Hop dancer from Unionville, and Everett Smith, a tap dancer from Glen Morris, Ontario.

Tune in to CTV next week at 8pm Tuesday September 15 to watch performances by the remaining 14 dancers of So You Think You Can Dance Canada Season 2. Karen Kain, world-renowned Canadian ballerina and Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, has been invited to be a guest judge on this episode.
